How often do you suffer heartburn or indigestions?

Treatment Advice
Antacids

Antacids are alkaline in nature and work by neutralising stomach acid. Made up from different mineral salts, such as aluminium, calcium, magnesium or sodium, they are typically available as tablets - but you can also get liquid and chewable formats. Antacids are readily available in both supermarkets and pharmacies and are fast acting, although for some people the effect does not last as long as they'd like.

The active ingredients can include magnesium trisilicate, magnesium hydroxide and aluminum hydroxide.

As with all medicines, always read the label.

If you keep getting heartburn or indigestion, your symptoms are severe, or they do not respond to other medicines, it is worth consulting your GP.
